2012 Introducing Porsche Panamera Diesel

The Porsche Panamera Diesel is powered by a four.0-liter V6 engine with a rated output of 250 hp (184 kW) achieved between four, 800 rpm and five, 400 rpm. The maximum torque of 550 Nm, obtainable all the way from one, 750 rpm to five,750 rpm, delivers high pulling power. It is exclusively obtainable with rear-wheel drive and makes use of a highly efficient eight-speed Tiptronic S as standard. The six-cylinder turbo diesel engine powers the new Gran Turismo from 0 to 62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 6.8 seconds, with a top speed of 150 mph (242 km/h).

The Porsche Panamera Diesel offers a highly appealing driving range of over 745 miles on 80-litre tank emits 172 g/km and delivers a combined fuel economy of 43.5mpg (6.5 l/100 km). With the optional lower rolling resistance tires, efficiency improves further still, to 167 g/km and 44.8mpg on a combined cycle.

Measuring 1931mm (76.0in) in width and 1418mm (55.8in) in height, the Panamera Diesel is both wider and lower than comparable four-door models. The unmistakable, sleek GT silhouette is created by an overall length of 4970mm (195.7in) and short, sporting overhangs front and rear. This new model can be recognized by the lettering diesel on the front doors.

The Porsche Panamera Diesel costs £62,134 (80,183 euro in Germany inc. VAT) and is on sale in the United Kingdom from August 2011.

2012 Jaguar XKR-S

2012 Jaguar XKR-S equipped with a new aerodynamic package with a more antagonistic looking front bumper, re-profiled side skirts, other openings in the Jaguar hood and fenders, enormous rear wing and revised rear bumper diffuser and quad-end homes.

2012 Jaguar XKR-S has customized version of the 5.0-liter V8 to 550 hp compressor Jaguar’s 5.0-liter supercharged V8 producing 550-horses and 680Nm (501 lb-ft) of peak torque, an increase of 40 hp and 70 Nm over the standard car production. It is powerful enough to offer 2012 Jaguar XKR-S a peak speed of 186 mph (300 kph) and 0-60 mph (96 km / h) run time of 4.2 seconds, with 000-100 kmh in just 8.6 seconds on. According to Jaguar, the new 2012 Jaguar XKR-S is also the only car in its class, less than 300g/km CO2.

In addition the engine upgrade, a British company for changes to the suspension engineers and reprogram Adaptive Dynamics, while the 2012 Jaguar XKR-S rides on a new set of lightweight alloy wheels shod in performance tyres.

2011 Hyundai Verna RB

The 2011 Hyundai Verna RB is the next big ticket launch or Hyundai India and boy, Hyundai is planning to mound on the pressure on its competitors in a massive way. Lotus Elan 2014 Future Car Review

A new Lotus Elan was propelled in Paris Auto Show, and for the first time, the model will not be available with a sunroof. This year, Hethel launched a bit of gauze, a motor roadster, which weighed little more than 1,700 pounds and run at 60 km / h in 7.1 seconds. Hennessey solved this problem with 2012 Hennessey VelociRaptor APV.Hennessey applied their tuning experience to improve the Ford Raptor Super Squad. The 2012 Hennessey VelociRaptor APV is powered with 6.2L V8 engine system which produces 575 hp and also with addition of a supercharger. Hennessey can get that power output up to 800 hp.

2011 Lanched for BMX X5 Model


The BMW X5, set for launch in spring 2010, comes with more powerful new engines and an extended selection of driver assistance systems. The BMW X5 dynamic ability can be characterized particularly by the addition of the new M Sports package.


Designed specifically for the Sports motion Vehicle, the M Sports package for the new BMW X5 features a high-speed setting, sporty chassis set-up, and 19-inch M light-alloy wheels in V-spoke design. In addition, 20-inch M light-alloy wheels with bi-color and high-sheen double-spoke design are obtainable as an option. In both cases, the wheels come with mixed tires at the front and rear, chosen specially for the X5. The M Sports package also includes special tailpipes for the exhaust system that share the trapezoidal shape standard on the BMW X5 xDrive50i of the six-cylinder variants.


For the external, the new M Sports package gives the new BMW X5 an external paint in shade Carbon Black tinny, which joins five other color shades in the range. The M Aerodynamic package and M door sills combine with the BMW Individual Exterior Line side window are framed in satin-finish aluminum and the BMW Individual roof rails in satin-finish chrome. History of Cars Timeline

1769: The First self-propelled car was built
Nicolas Cugnot, a French military engineer developed a steam powered road-vehicle for the French army to haul heavy cannons.

Using a steam engine fixed to a three-wheeled cart, Cugnot successfully converted the back-and-forth action of a steam piston into rotary motion.

The truck reputedly reached walking speed and carried four tonnes. The army later abandoned his invention.

1801: Britain's steam powered cars
Richard Trevithick improved the design of steam engines, by making smaller and lighter with stronger boilers generating more power. In 1801, he put one of his new compact steam engines on wheels.

His ‘road locomotive’ - known as the Puffing Devil – was the first horseless carriage to transport passengers. Innovations like hand brakes, gears, and steering improvements were developed in subsequent decades.

1824: Uphill struggle
English engineer, Samuel Brown adapted an old Newcomen steam engine to burn a mixture of oxygen hydrogen gas.

He used it to briefly power a vehicle up Shooter's Hill - the highest point in south London.

1858: First Coal-gas engine
Belgian-born engineer, Jean Joseph Étienne Lenoir invented and patented (1860) a two-stroke, internal combustion engine. It was fuelled by coal gas and triggered by an electric spark-ignition.

Lenoir later attached an improved engine to a three-wheeled wagon and completed a fifty-mile road trip.

1865: Speed restrictions introduced in UK
The Locomotive Act restricted the speed of horse-less vehicles to 4mph in open country and 2 mph in towns.

The act effectively required three drivers for each vehicle; two to travel in the vehicle and one to walk ahead waving a red flag. For the next 30 years cars couldn’t legally travel above walking speed.

1876: Stroke of genius
Nikolaus August Otto invented and later patented a successful four-stroke engine, known as the “Otto cycle.”

The same year, the first successful two-stroke engine was invented by the Scottish engineer, Sir Dugald Clerk.

1886: Motor age moves forward
The first vehicles driven using internal combustion engines were developed roughly at the same time by two engineers working in separate parts of Germany – Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz.

They simultaneously formulated highly successful and practically powered vehicles that, by and large, worked like the cars we use today. The age of modern motor cars had begun.

1889: The First Motor Company formed
Two former French wood machinists, Rene Panhard and Emile Levassor, set up the world’s first car manufacturers. Their first car was built in 1890 using a Daimler engine.

Another French company, Peugeot was formed the following year, and still going strong today.

1890: Maybach speeds things up
Wilhelm Maybach built the first four-cylinder, four-stroke engine. Three years later, he develops the spray-nozzle carburettor, which becomes the basis for modern carburettor technology.

A decade later, Maybach developed a race car using lightweight metals fitted with a 35-hp four-cylinder engine and two carburettors. Named the Mercedes, the car reaches 64.4 km/h to shatter the world speed record.

1894: Grand Prix racing begins
Motor racing began as cars were built. Races quickly evolved from a simple chases from town to town, to organised events like time trials endurance tests for car and driver.

Innovations in engineering soon saw competition speeds exceeding 100 mph. Since races were often held on open roads, fatalities were frequent among drivers and spectators.

1896: First Road Traffic Death

Bridget Driscoll, a 44-year old mother of two from Croydon, stepped off a kerb and into the history books. She was hit by a passing motor car near Crystal Palace in London. She died from head injuries.

The driver, Arthur Edsell, was doing just 4mph at the time. The coroner, returning a verdict of accidental death, said “I trust that this sort of nonsense will never happen again.”

1903: The Ford Motor Company Formed
After fitting moving assembly lines to the factory in 1913, Ford became the world's biggest car manufacturer.

By 1927, 15 million Model Ts had been manufactured. Workers on the production line assembled the car just in ninety-three minutes.

1911: Key development
Working for Cadillac’s design and development department, Charles Kettering invented the electric ignition and starter motor. Cars could now start themselves.

Kettering later introduced independent suspension, and four-wheel brakes. And By 1930, most of the technology used in automobiles today had already been invented.

1965: Emissions regulations introduced
Controls on harmful emissions initially introduced in California, the rest of the world soon followed suit.

Safety devices also became mandatory – before this, manufacturers only included seat belts as optional extras.

1973: Energy crisis
After the Arab oil Embargo beginning in October 1973, oil prices rocketed causing a world shortage. Though it was lifted a year later, the effect was explosive – especially in America, where huge gas-guzzling cars were the norm. Fuel economy was suddenly something to consider when buying a car.

1978: Safe stopping distance decreased
The first antilock braking systems (ABS) were developed for automobiles by German manufacurers, Bosch. They first appeared in trucks and cars made by Mercedes-Benz.

ABS brakes to allow the driver to maintain steering control and to shorten braking distances.

1997: Car Manufacturers get green
Manufacturers have acknowledged that oil reserves will dry up in the future. They’re now developing engines that use more than one fuel source – hybrid engines.

Honda and Toyota initially introduced their petrol/electric hybrids to the Japanese market, before releasing them in America and Europe in 2002.

Toyota replaced by Honda to become suppliers’ favored customer


In accordance to an annual survey of relations amid vehicle producers and suppliers Toyota is no more a darling of North American car parts makers. A survey by Michigan based Planning Perspectives recommends that Toyota and Honda are putting nearly as much pressure on suppliers to lower prices as are the three Detroit carmakers. In survey’ history it’s the first time that Toyota has lost its spot as suppliers most favored consumer which is to be replaced by Honda. Chrysler, whose procurement section has been in turmoil as its conquest by Cerberus Capital in 2007, got the least score among the six big manufacturers.


Chrysler, which filed for Chapter 11 insolvency protection last month, has offered details to about 1,200 suppliers on how their outstanding bills will be settled. It plans to transfer the “awesome majority” of its supplier contracts to a novel company expected to come out from bankruptcy protection at the end of this week.


Relations in the industry have been strained by the droop in vehicle sales. Dozens of suppliers have filed for bankruptcy, including two sizeable ones – Mark IV Industries and Hayes-Lemmerz – in previous month.


Parts makers’ opinion of Toyota has turned down for two years in a row. John Henke, Planning Perspectives’ president, stated that the slump had exposed weaknesses stemming from the Japanese car producer’s quick expansion.Toyota took over General Motors last year as the world’s main and largest car manufacturer but reported a larger first-quarter loss than GM.
Mr.Henke stated that lot of suppliers reported dealing with younger employees who had little exposure to Toyota’s “incessant improvement” culture.

Iconic 1934 Ford gonna reach 75 years within two years!

There is a famous aphorism called “Old is Gold”. And that’s in fact very true. Old is always gold and its big asset and treasure for the company and Ford Motors has proved it! Let me put it in simpler words. The iconic 1932 Ford Motors is still celebrating a jubilee function which is something really great!

It was two years back there were celebrations for the iconic 1932 Ford. And amazing thing is after two years its gonna celebrate its 75th birthday! Guess its time Ford Motors to pat their back as they are celebrating birthday of their very old car! Love for this car has never decreased.

And moreover those days 1933 and 1934 are known for mechanically best performance and this car was affordable nearly by all classes of people. And 1934 is also known as California Kid. There is grand display of all model 40s at Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum and this display also comprises other famous old models of Ford which is gonna be till Fathers Day.

Audi promotes “INTELLIGENT EMOTION” project

Audi looks into the future. Under the title “Intelligent Emotion,” students at Munich University of Applied Sciences, aided by Audi, have developed visionary ideas for the mobility of the future – from a hybrid supercar to an alternative concept for lightweight design of interiors. The results are presented in eleven future-oriented concept studies.




“The next generation of employees is our future,” says Wolfgang Egger, Head of Audi Group Design. “That’s why sponsoring design students is one of our high priorities. With the “Intelligent Emotion” project we have obviously inspired them to find new and creative approaches for the future of personal transportation.” The project was headed by Dr. Othmar Wickenheiser, Professor of Transportation Design at Munich University of Applied Sciences. Wolfgang Egger and Stefan Sielaff, Head of Audi Design, mentored the project.


The objective of the design project was to present Audi as a sporty premium brand as well as a pioneer in technology and design. The balance between innovation and brand recognition was to be represented in a product with great emotional appeal that also conforms to the requirements of society.


“The results are impressive,” says Wolfgang Egger. “The students have addressed the subject of mobility in the future with very well-conceived and lucidly presented approaches. Each concept, each model, contains at least one idea or feature that we could certainly conceive of as being included in a future production vehicle.”

During the creative process, Audi designers supported the students. After all, they too are constantly pursuing innovative ideas to reinforce Audi's status as a leading brand in automobile design. “What sets a good designer apart is the very special ability of conceptualizing the future and visualizing it in images,” says Stefan Sielaff, Head of Audi Design. “Current developments such as alternative engine concepts or increased efficiency of our vehicles also call for answers from the designers. We find it fascinating how students approach such challenges – above and beyond the technical and regulatory requirements that the design of production cars has to meet.”

As Egger explains: “Emotion as a driving force must go hand in hand with responsibility as regulator. The students’ assignment was to develop esthetic approaches that reflect the new ecological, technical and social issues while also portraying an Audi as an attractive, sporty automobile. The results are of very high creative quality and provide plenty of substance for intensive discussions.”

The project results have been published as a book – with commentary by Audi’s chief designers. Published by Heel Verlag and titled Audi Design Projekt, the book is available at booksellers for €29.90.

2009 - Best 10 Outgoing Cars

Finally the cars have been ranked for the year 2009 and there are 10 Best-Selling Cars in the list of March month. Chevy Malibu is the most significant mover which is moved from 10-9 and though Honda Accord is always is in the top position it too moved up compared to previous year and March is the month where the sales build up for the calendar year.

For most of the car manufacturers there was plunge in the overall sales but it didn’t incur too much of losses when compared to the month of February. Sales of GM were 45% down in 2008 but that’s quite better than February 2009 as there was increase in the decline rate it was about 52%. This was the same situation faced by all car manufacturers like Ford Honda and so on.

The best 10 Outgoing Cars are as follows:
