Toyota Corolla S3 for Ford Tempt Toyota
In an attempt to steal sales from their key competitor, GM and Ford have announced new incentives to lure recall-wary Toyota proprietor.
The GM inducement offers current Toyota lessees up to $1,000 to finish their lease and get a new GM vehicle. If they plan to finance their purchase, GM is offering zero percent interest for 60 months on most models. Last but not least, cash buyers can get $1,000 in down-payment assistance.
GM's general manager of retail sales support, Steve Hill, said "...we're just getting barraged by phone calls from our dealers and our field personnel telling us about ... customers from Toyota calling and stopping in."
Like GM, Ford is offering Toyota, Lexus, and Scion owners up to $1,000 to buy or lease a new Ford product (the incentive also applies to Honda and Acura owners).
